Teaching Theories

There are three main categories under which learning theories fall. However, there are many other learning theories.  Innovative Learning describes many of these theories in depth.

Teaching Sites

Throughout the sememster, I've found a variety of sites that have been very benefitial to teaching.

This site has a variety of strategies for teaching different components of English for future teachers. http://teacher2b.com/

My Web site

I'm working on a personal Web site for ELRN 385. It will show case some of my coursework as well as links to education sites, and anything else that I think might be interesting and relavent. It's not completed, but I will be updating it. Feel free to offer suggestions!

Blogging Tips

For new bloggers (aka myself), the process can be intimidating.  It's great seeing all the different techniques and ideas my classmates are posting on their blogs.  For more ideas, browsing the web or talking to people who have blogged before are great ways to learn more about this technology.

Check out this site if you have some free time. It has tons of tips and articles offering suggestions about how to improve your blog, including design tips, dos and don'ts, as well as links to other blogs.

ELRN 385

Spring break is officially over, time to get back to classes. I'm sure many would agree that it was not quite long enough (caused in part by daylight savings time!)

I spent spring break in Durango, Colorado. Our team qualified for the NCAA Tournament, and it was a great experience.  I learned a great deal about different coaching and playing styles from watching the 8 teams compete in our Region tournament.

Below is a video of quotes from John Wooden.
